- Ensure that Intra natal and Newborn Care is adequately addressed within the MCH/FP policy
- Ensure provision of quality Intra natal and Newborn care to all women and newborns at institutional and field levels
- Ensure implementation of essential service delivery packages on Intra natal Care and Essential and Advanced Newborn Care
- Ensure availability of uniform, updated national evidence-based technical guidance and direction to improve Intra-natal and Newborn Care
- Strengthen the infrastructure for the provision of Intra-natal Care and Basic and Advanced newborn care
- Strengthen supportive services (laboratory, radiology, blood transfusion, high dependency, and intensive care) to improve Intra-natal and Newborn Care
- Improve knowledge, skills, and competencies of health staff on Intra-natal Care and Essential and Advanced newborn care
- Ensure effective implementation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative
- Strengthen collaboration and partnership with all stakeholders working towards improving Intra-natal and Newborn Care at all levels
