About This Unit
The Research Unit advances evidence-based programming in reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, adolescent, and youth health (RMNCAYH) — identifying the National RMNCAYH Programme's research needs and translating findings back into policy and practice.
Key Activities
- Identification of the research needs of the National RMNCAYH Programme.
- Conduction of research in order to address the research needs.
- Commission external organizations and individuals to conduct relevant studies.
- Dissemination of the findings of research conducted or commissioned to relevant stakeholders.
- Compile locally-available evidence on maternal and child health for strategic planning.
- Strengthen collaborative relationships with research organizations and academic institutions.
- Build research capacity among public health personnel.
- Deliver technical guidance to staff conducting research activities.
- Provide technical expertise for reproductive health emergency preparedness and response using the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) framework.
