About This Unit
The unit provides oversight and coordination for women's health initiatives across Sri Lanka's maternal and child health programme. Flagship services include the National Well Women Clinic Services and the Cervical Cancer Screening Programme.
Key Activities
- Advocate on matters relevant to Women's Health including policy formulation.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise on Women's Health.
- Coordinate peripheral MCH Programme Managers on Women's Health matters.
- Deliver technical and managerial guidelines.
- Implement capacity building initiatives.
- Develop programme-specific training materials.
- Manage procurement and distribution for Well Women Clinic Services and Cervical Cancer Screening.
- Mobilize funding from government and international sources.
- Maintain Women's Health surveillance systems.
- Establish and maintain partnerships.
