About This Unit
The Oral Health Unit handles national-level planning and coordination of School Dental Services and the Oral Healthcare Programme for pregnant mothers, including capacity building of the dental workforce and community oral health promotion.
Key Activities
- Oversee school dental services and oral healthcare for expectant mothers at regional and national levels.
- Handle equipment procurement and distribution for school dental clinics.
- Provide in-service training to dental surgeons, therapists, clinic assistants, and primary healthcare staff.
- Create and distribute educational materials.
- Conduct oral health initiatives targeting preschool educators, school teachers, and community groups.
